My
career began as a Marketing Manger in the high tech and telecommunications
arenas which, after 12 years, has developed into a thorough understanding
of business, business needs and time-lines. Simultaneously, my passion
for fly fishing drove me to create, show and sell contemporary trout
paintings in several Portland area galleries. Since then, my art has
progressed in many different directions to include commercial illustration.
Although I am a mixed medium artist/illustrator, I prefer acrylics on
paper and wood panel and paint on both a large and small scale. My current
focus is on business, fashion and event illustration.
In addition to ongoing shows in Portland and Central Oregon area galleries, I have produced fine art and illustrations for Adidas, IBM, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Sun River Resort, Cameron Clark Concert Productions and various regional festivals and events. Since 1999, my illustrations have won 3 Ad Federation Awards and one Northwest regional ADDY award in 2002. Eric Gewiss currently works as a full time Artist and Commercial Illustrator.
